This is 14 slide PowerPoint presentation depicting the traditional Stations of the Cross. This resource could be used for an assembly or class use during Lent, Easter or Holy Week.
Pupils could write their own thoughts or feelings about each of the incidents at the stations and this could be added to the PowerPoint for an assembly. The slides could also be printed off and used for display purposes or placed in RE rooms or school chapels.
The stations commemorate Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14 stations (sometimes called devotions) focus on the specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation and ending with Christ's Crucifixion.
The stations are commonly used as a mini-pilgrimage. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Prayers can be recited at each one or time can be given for meditation and reflection.
The stations are most commonly used during Lent on Wednesdays and Fridays and especially on Good Friday the day on which the events actually occurred.
